Mr & Mrs Cowdery came to us wanting help to bring some personal touches to the garden of their stunning new build property. They were looking for our help to design a garden, which retained a simple character, yet complemented their tastes, was easy to manage, looked fantastic and a design transformation that could be carried out on a modest budget.

They were looking for our help to design a garden, which retained a simple character, yet complemented their tastes, was easy to manage, looked fantastic and a design transformation that could be carried out on a modest budget.
The garden was heavily overlooked by the neighbouring property on one side, Mr & Mrs Cowdery were keen to gain some privacy, without resorting to unsightly high traditional fencing, it was important to greatly reduce the amount that they were overlooked. As we are experienced in garden design for overlooked gardens, we used our extensive knowledge to incorporate the use of pleaching trees. Pleaching techniques were incorporated into the design as a feature to create a natural and beautifully effective screen barrier. The branches of Elaeagnus and Photinia trees would be woven together to create a screen which would provide the additional privacy required and yet remain simple and natural in its look.
Another issue often faced in garden design for overlooked properties are brick walls; either the sides of neighbouring properties or as in this case, the rather unattractive brick wall of the couple’s double garage. This was definitely a feature of the garden that we felt was important to soften and transform, and yet our solution needed to keep the garden design on a budget specified by our clients. Our garden design service was able to plan for a living wall, a stunning feature, which would not only screen the brickwork, but provide a beautiful new feature to be proud of. We used corten steel panels with a spike under each to hide the drab brickwork with a stunning feature piece. Whilst keeping the overall design simplicity requested by Mr & Mrs Cowdery, the addition certainly achieved the brief.
Our remote garden design service was able to transform a few simple photographs of the area and the wishes and needs of Mr & Mrs Cowdery, into a beautiful yet simple feature-rich garden design space. Their new garden design provided them with an outdoor space where they could remain private using select feature pieces to give the garden the character and simplicity that was important to them.

The guys have created two patio dining areas and a wonderful summer house space towards the bottom of our garden.
