Love Island Inspired Garden Retreat

Our client approached us with a unique vision: to create her very own love island themed garden retreat. Her desire was to blend elements of relaxation, entertainment, and natural beauty into a cohesive space that reflected her personality and lifestyle.

Our design approach was rooted in the desire to create a space that embraced every season. The garden’s layout and features were carefully planned to ensure versatility and usability in all weather conditions. Drawing inspiration from modern aesthetics, we curated a selection of plants that not only enhanced the visual appeal but also contributed to the overall ambiance, fostering a deeper connection with nature. A thoughtful lighting scheme was integrated to extend the garden’s usability into the evening hours, casting a warm glow and creating an inviting atmosphere after dark.

Central to the design was the creation of three distinct social spaces, each tailored to different activities and gatherings. The strategically positioned gazebo area served as a welcoming retreat, bathed in natural light during the day and illuminated by warm festoon lights at night. Elevated planting beds provided privacy and richness to the space, while a small bar counter and cosy seating area added to the inviting ambiance.

One of the garden’s highlights was the inviting corner, featuring big floor cushions and a fire pit surrounded by fragrant star jasmine and evergreens. The waterbody seamlessly connected the patio and gazebo area, with double-tiered foliage beds leading visitors to other social spaces. Throughout the garden, divergent textures of hardscape, features, and foliage created visually pleasing vignettes, inviting exploration and connection with nature.

An eight-seater dining table, framed by modern-Mediterranean themed plants, offered a scenic view of the entire garden. The sun-lounge area, situated next to the existing hot tub and outdoor shower, provided a relaxing spot bathed in sunlight. A horizontal lattice fence ensured privacy, while scented perennials and evergreen shrubs added vibrancy to the space.

The garden’s transformation was further enriched by the relocation of an existing garden fountain to a half-circular patio, creating a focal point visible from the living room. Low-height wooden posts added warmth and defined boundaries, while existing plant stands attracted wildlife, enriching the garden’s ecosystem.
